Innovation metrics

To get ready for market you'll need to find ways to measure innovation personally and as a company.

1. Define the domain of companies that are positioned either upstream or downstream from your company in a vertical value chain, all companies that supply complementary products and services, all companies that possess similar competencies and those that satisfy the same deep customer needs. This needs to be broad to limit the chance of surprises from disruptive technologies.

2. Wealth Creation Index: Measure changes in market capitalisation and compare with changes to the entire domain. In the absence of acquisitions or mergers any company that achieves a sustained jump in its share of domain value is an industry revolutionary.
